A lion licks water off the mesh tent window of safari tourists in Botswana.

Tourists camping on safari in Mabuasehube Game Reserve inside Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in Botswana awoke to the frightening sight of three lions licking water off their mesh tent window.

But instead of panicking, Francie Francisca Lubbe took out her phone and captured amazing video showing two of the lions licking just inches away, as reported by the Mirror.

“What a privilege,” Lubbe wrote on Facebook. “It rained during the night and 3 lioness[es were] licking the water from the tent.”

Lubbe, who works in Kempton Park, South Africa, posted the video on Facebook where the reactions were a mixture of awe and fear:

“We tried to be very quiet [so as] not to disturb them,” Lubbe wrote, according to USA Today. “It was very special.”

Lubbe noted that the lions made no noise and had no smell, and one even appeared frightened after catching sight of a human, USA Today reported.

The tourists remained inside the relative safety of their tent as the lions roamed around their campsite at Khiding Pan. Lubbe managed to take some closeup photos of the lions and posted them on Facebook, too.
