In a truly spectacular string of coincidences, Finnair flight AY666 departed from the Copenhagen Airport in Denmark (CPH) and landed in the Helsinki-Vantaa (HEL) airport on Friday. That means Finnair flight 666 landed in HEL on Friday the 13th:

According to the Daily Mail, Finnair has been flying the AY666 route for years, and occasionally it will fly on Friday the 13th: Last year, it happened in May.

“It has been quite a joke among the pilots. I’m not a superstitious man. It’s only a coincidence for me,” pilot Juha-Pekka Keidasto, who flies the route for Finnair, told RT. “If there’s some passenger who is anxious about this 666, our cabin crew is always happy to help them.”

According to the Daily Mail, while the plane took off late, the crew piloting the flight to HEL made up time in the air, and the plane ultimately landed nine minutes early.

While the coincidence of a flight numbered 666 landing in HEL on Friday the 13th might already be enough to make a superstitious traveler rethink flying, the Daily Mail reports that — in another crazy coincidence — the jet flying the route was 13 years old.
