Winter Park Resort, COLO., June 10, 2010 – The sun is shining, the grass is green, and summer at Winter Park Resort starts Saturday, June 12 with the official opening day. The Zephyr Express chairlift will start running at 9:30 a.m. for bikers to access Trestle Bike Park. Base area activities will open at 10:00 a.m.

Winter Park Resort is located 67 miles (108 kilometers) northwest of Denver, 85 miles (137 kilometers) from Denver International Airport and 40 miles (64 kilometers) from Rocky Mountain National Park.

Trestle Bike Park
Trestle Bike Park is the fastest growing bike park in the United States, home to 33 miles of downhill and freeride trails including 175 stunts and features. Throughout June, Trestle Bike Park will be open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with all day passes available for $34/person. Before you hit the trails, have fun and work on your bike handling skills on two pump tracks or bring the younger riders to practice in the Kids' Skills Zone, located at the base of the Trestle Bike Park. The bike park crew is also working hard to complete a top to mid-mountain singletrack trail by opening day, Saturday, June 12, 2010. All trail openings are based on conditions and additional trails will open as conditions permit.

What's New in 2010 at Trestle Bike Park
Terrain Expansion –
For advanced gravity-fueled guests, Trestle is announcing the extension of Jump Trail; check <>  for details as the park crew begins construction.

For novice park riders, Trestle is pleased to announce Green World, an expanded five mile, top-to-bottom beginner trail that will provide new downhill trail riders a full-mountain experience preparing them to tackle blue and black trails. All trail openings are based on conditions and additional trails will open as conditions permit.

Trestle 101 – For those looking to start the sport or wanting guidance to achieve the next level of riding, Trestle Bike Park is offering a new progressive lesson and guide program beginning with Trestle 101. Guests will receive a 2.5 hour lesson, ticket and downhill rental package value priced at $69 Monday – Friday and $79 weekends. Classes will be offered at 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Rental and Demo Shops
New for the 2010 summer season, bike rentals and bike demos will be split into two distinct shops each with respective rentals and demos, Trestle Bike Park Shop and Epic Singletrack Shop. Trestle Bike Park Shop will continue to cater to the gravity-fueled enthusiasts with downhill specific equipment and armor. The new Epic Singletrack Shop will accommodate cross-country clientele looking to ride the trails of Grand County and the Fraser Valley. For those wanting to experience the trails high on Winter Park Mountain, Epic Singletrack Shop offers a single ride Zephyr Express lift ticket for quick and easy access to mountaintop single track riding. Epic Singletrack Shop will offer an extensive Specialized Mountain Bike demo program, as well as a cross country rental fleet consisting of Kona, Scott and Yeti bikes. Trestle Bike Park Shop – Trestle Bike Park Shop is home to the largest bike park fleet in the United States, with over 100 new 2010 Kona downhill bikes, 14 of which are women-specific. Each bike in the rental fleet exclusively uses Marzocchi suspension to ensure the best possible ride in the park. Trestle Bike Park Shop has also expanded their demo bike program to include 50 of the latest park and downhill race bikes from Kona, Specialized, Yeti, Scott, Norco and Cove. Mountain Bike Race Series
This Saturday, Winter Park Resort gears up for the first race in the Epic Singletrack Race Series at Winter Park.
