VonZipper has added Josh Hartley to its team as global design director and “chief officer of product badassery.”
Born and raised on the central coast of California, Hartley cut his teeth at the Art Institute of California, Los Angeles, spent several years in surf retail and has more than 15 years of eyewear design expertise. In addition to his creative ways, he's been known to spin a late-night DJ gig and possesses an eagerness to drag a knee on a motorbike.
"To be joining the VZ team at such an incredible time of market evolution couldn’t be more appealing to me," exclaimed Hartley. "I am excited at the opportunity to apply the culmination of experience I have learned over the years to lead VonZipper's diverse product offering. Designing eyewear is both romantic and technical at the same time. I enjoy the detail, the lack of boundaries and the inherent style that comes with the right frame. The future is bright, I can't wait to get after it".
Hartley will be in charge of global design direction for all VonZipper product initiatives, including the development of product strategies and line segmentation. He will report directly to brand Founder/President, Greg “GT” Tomlinson and will work in close collaboration with the internal sales and art departments in California, as well as VZ's International partners and factories to achieve the brand vision worldwide.
