The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association has named Alice Ruth to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
Ruth currently heads Willet Advisors LLC as Chief Investment Officer, a firm that manages the assets of Michael Bloomberg and his foundation. She won praise for her work as Chief Investment Officer for the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation in San Francisco, a foundation that has a focus on environmental conservation and scientific research in the Bay Area. Ruth has also been active on non-profit boards such as the Vail Mountain School and Vail Valley Medical Center, and currently serves on the board of the Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, Massachusetts.
“Alice brings an amazing business and investment background to our Board of Trustees. That knowledge, combined with her enthusiasm for our sports, will make her a strong contributor to our athletes’ quest to be best in the world,” says U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association Presdient and CEO Bill Marolt.
Ruth comes from a family of skiers and owns a home in Vail, Colorado. She was also recently an active member on the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation’s New York Ski and Snowboard Ball Committee. Ruth and her family currently reside in New York City.
“I am looking forward to serving on the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation’s Board of Trustees,” said Ruth. “Skiing has been a passion of my entire family for a long time. I am currently actively involved in the ski community and am enthusiastic to become more involved at the national level.”
“It’s important to have people on our board, like Alice, who understand business, foundations and youth education. Her experience with the Vail Mountain School and a variety of non-profits are all valuable components to our own foundation platform,” said Vice President, Foundation Trace Worthington. “We are very fortunate to have Alice serving on our Board of Trustees and I look forward to learning from her knowledge and experience”.
