Skullcandy Founder and CEO Rick Alden has apparently stepped down from his role of CEO at the company, which recently filed for a $125 million IPO. According to sources at the brand, Alden announced Wednesday that he is passing the torch to Skullcandy President Jeremy Andrus.
Andrus joined Skullcandy in 2004 and was promoted from chief operating officer to president in June of 2008. Prior to joining Skullcandy, Andrus was Director of Strategic Planning and Acquisitions for boutique hotel owner/operator Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and managed his own hotel development projects focused on Marriott franchise properties. Andrus received his MBA from Harvard Business School and BS from Brigham Young University.
This statement was just released from Skullcandy, which is declining to offer any additional information at this time due toe the “silent period” surrounding its IPO process.

As a major shareholder, Rick continues to support Skullcandy and will remain on the board of directors. President and Chief Operating Officer Jeremy Andrus succeeds Rick as the new CEO.

Jeremy joined Skullcandy in 2005 and has served as its President and Chief Operating Officer since June 2008. Prior to joining the company, he was a strategic planner for Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group, developed hotel properties for Marriott and worked as a consultant for Monitor Company. Jeremy holds a B.A. from Brigham Young University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
