Reflecting on the last weekend of sun, sand and swim, we curated highlights from some of our favorite runway shows that took place at Miami Swim Week.

Multiple venues and locations played host to a run of shows, all within the vicinity of several blocks in the heart of South Beach. Miami show goers had a chance to jet from one runway to the next and take in all of the new looks for Spring 18 and Holiday/Resort from noteworthy brands.

Naomi Newirth, designer and co-founder of Acacia Swim, takes a bow after the brand’s runway show.

The Funkshion tent in Collins Park, directly across from Cabana Show, was at the center of the action, and featured shows from the likes of major labels such as For Love and Lemons, Lolli Swim, and Luli Fama.

Several brands chose a different route to bring their creations to life; Across town, Acacia held their runway show on the top floor of a parking garage overlooking downtown Miami. The show was still a part of the Funkshion event line up, but it’s unique location added an edgy, more urban vibe to the brand’s look.

Blocks from there, the SWIMMIAMI tent played host to several brands in the surf space, including Tavik and Issa De’ Mar, which had successful back to back runway showings Sunday evening.

Over at the W Hotel at Collins Park, Sports Illustrated’s new Swim and Active line came to life as part of SWIMMIAMI, held poolside inside the sleek W courtyard. SI’s show embodied the vision for the line: a throwback to retro pieces inspired by cover models for the iconic mag over the years, with a modern, athletic twist on many pieces to catapult the line back into today’s trends. Designer Holly Swope said her goal for the collection was to make it accessible to every type of woman out there who wants to wear a swimsuit and feel sexy.
