Brown, Rolland, Toutant & Prior debut as LifeProof athletes at X Games Aspen
SAN DIEGO – As the annual pinnacle in action sports, X Games is where the biggest and best tricks go down and athletes catapult into the national spotlight, inspiring the next generation of competitors. LifeProof, the No. 1-selling waterproof case in the U.S., announces a yearlong deal with X Games and the addition of freestyle skiers Bobby Brown and Kevin Rolland and snowboarders Sebastien Toutant and Christy Prior to the LifeProof athlete team.
"Today, established and aspiring X Games athletes use their smartphones nonstop on the mountain or at the track," said LifeProof President and CEO Pete Lindgren. "LifeProof is here to help them achieve their own gravity-defying and awe-inspiring moments. We believe in defying the limits and these athletes do just that."
LifeProof helps smartphone users defy the elements with its waterproof, dirt proof, drop proof and snow proof cases. The slim cases defy the limits of what was thought possible for smartphone protection and help fans bring their technology into the heart of the action.
As an official sponsor of both X Games Aspen and X Games Austin, LifeProof will be on-site to support its growing team of athletes.
Brown was the first skier to win two gold medals in one X Games and has landed on the podium there five times. He most recently placed second at X Games Aspen 2015 in the GoPro Skiing Big Air finals. Brown was also a 2014 Olympian as a member of the inaugural U.S. men's slopestyle ski team.
Rolland is a French freestyle skier with six X Games podiums under his belt. He's taken home gold twice and finished second in Ski SuperPipe at X Games Aspen in 2014 and 2015. Rolland also took home bronze from the 2014 Olympics in men's halfpipe and was a 2011 ESPY Award nominee for Best Male Action Sports Athlete.
Toutant, also known as 'Seb Toots', hails from Quebec and has earned four X Games medals, two of which were gold. A member of the 2014 Canadian Olympic team, Toutant will be competing in Snowboard Slopestyle and Big Air at 2016 X Games Aspen.
Prior makes her way to X Games Aspen for the women's Snowboard Slopestyle competition from New Zealand, which she represented in the 2014 Winter Olympics. Prior took home the bronze in the 2015 X Games and will be looking to add to her medal count during finals on Jan. 29.
