What overall trends are you seeing in the boot market?
Boa is still growing. It seems to have universal acceptance and they have done a great job as a brand partner with us to keep improving and growing.
How has your approach to lacing systems evolved in the past few years?
We have a lace and speedlace and Boa and we are dedicated to all of those options. But really it is Boa that continues to be a great lacing system for us. We are in our 11th year with them. We made the first Boa boots and we know more than anyone how to optimize the system.
What new construction techniques, technologies, or fabrics do you anticipate breaking out next year?
Endo Construction is our standout boot rethink right now. We have simplified how our boots are made and the result is super consistent flex and feel that has less breakdown and more rebound energy. They have a really lively feel to them that you have to try to understand.
What trends do you anticipate in the realm of graphics and colors?
Just like with boards it is a simpler time for graphics in boots. Cleaner colorways with less print and richer materials.
Have you seen any new trends in market segmentation?
There are a few niche segments like backcountry focused and park focused here and there. But in general fit is the name of the game, so I have seen riders crossing those segments just to get the right boot that fits.
