Jamie Anderson was nominated for and won Best Female Action Sports Athlete

In exciting news from the world of snowboarding, Jamie Anderson took home the ESPY Award for Best Female Action Sports Athlete. The ESPY Awards, which took place July 13, 2016 at the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles, CA. Along with Jamie, the nominees for Best Female Action Sports Athlete included  Chloe Kim, Keala Kennelly and Carissa Moore.

Jamie has had countless successes this year in her snowboarding. TransWorld SNOWBOARDING reports that Jamie won slopestyle gold at the X Games Aspen, X Games Norway, the Burton US Open, and at the US Snowboard Championships in China, along with earning the top spot on the World Snowboard Tour. Outside of competing, Jamie had an exciting year as well, including filming with the Full Moon crew, and tackling heli-boarding in Haines, Alaska for the first time.

After her win, Jamie posted an excited Instagram, thanking her friends, family, sponsors and fans. She commented "So thankful on so many levels! I wouldn't be where I am today without the love, support & encouragement of my family, friends & of course my sponsors! Thanks for making my dreams a reality! Unbelievably grateful."

The male category consisted of Ryan Dungey, Nyjah Huston, Gus Kenworthy, Pedro Barros and Mark McMorris, with Dungey taking home the award. You can read a full recap here.
