The community is rallying to support industry veteran, former TransWorld SNOWboarding Editor and current Dew Tour Editor Gerhard Gross, who was diagnosed with cancer last year.
A GoFundMe campaign for Gross, his wife Kristen, and his 18-month-old son, Gerhard the fourth, has been set up to support the family and offset the cost of treatment and challenges yet to come. The outpouring of support in the past 24 hours has been strong, with more than $17k raised toward a $75k goal.
Before joining the TransWorld SNOWboarding family as managing editor, Gross rode for K2 snowboards and has always been fully immersed in the snowboarding community. His family, friends and colleagues can attest that with every word he writes and turn he makes, Gross is constantly putting his passion for this industry and the people in it at the forefront.
Now we are reaching out to his extended network to help give back to someone who has given so much. In order to devote the energy needed to undergo a clinical immunotherapy treatment, Gerhard has taken a leave of absence from work. As a result, a family friend has put together this fundraiser to ease the financial burden associated with the treatment.
Gerhard, we are all rooting for you, and wish you the speediest recovery possible!
