Its been a big couple weeks for Miss. Elena Hight. In addition to the following press release from the Volcom snow gang, we also got word from Nike 6.0’s Sierra Domaille that Elena and Greg Bretz have joined the Nike 6.0 team.

Here’s the word from Volcom:

Volcom is proud to announce Elena Hight has joined the Volcom snow program. The young and accomplished rider has been with Volcom streetwear since October 2005. Starting immediately she will be rocking Volcom from her beanie to the board under her feet.

“The best thing about the Volcom snow team is the family structure and to have such amazing people around me. I love the tight knit program that Volcom has and I feel so fortunate to be able to experience this and have the opportunity to fully embrace it,” stated Elena.

Some of her accomplishments over the last few years are: Transworld Snowboarding’s “Rookie of the Year” in 2006. She was the youngest athlete at the 2006 Winter Olympics as a member of the US Halfpipe Team placing 6th in Torino. Elena has been at the edge of pushing women’s halfpipe riding, and was the first girl to land back-to-back 900’s in competition in 2007. Not to mention, Elena won the Van’s Cup Halfpipe in both 2007 and 2008.

“We are really excited to have Elena on Volcom. She is everything we look for in a snowboarder. She is extremely talented and dedicated to progression. I still can’t believe how much she has accomplished at such a young age. We look forward to see what she does next,” says Billy Anderson, Volcom Snow Brand Manager.

Elena’s passion for snowboarding has proven to make her successful in progressing female riding. Her humble compassionate attitude and unyielding competitive spirit has taken her far in the sport she loves.

Welcome to the team Elena!
