Since being acquired by Marquee Brands in 2016, Body Glove has remained fairly quiet in terms of its next moves. But today, Marquee announced a new distribution partnership for the Southern California brand through European company Shiner Ltd.

Shiner – which also distributes Protec in Europe – will extend Body Glove men’s, women’s and children’s apparel reach to more than 1,000 points of sale throughout specialty, department stores and online retailers in Europe.

Body Glove is an authentic and much-admired brand and the scope for growth is enormous. We look forward to a bright future."

Marquee Brands acquired a majority interest of Body Glove in November 2016 from the Meistrell family. Twin brothers Bob and Bill Meistrell established the company in 1953 in Redondo Beach, California, and headed up the brand’s storied legacy that is still in place today.

From its beginnings as a pioneer in wetsuit technology, Body Glove has grown into an authentic global company that is well-regarded in surf, outdoor sports and active lifestyle markets.

Shiner Ltd will become the new strategic European licensee for Body Glove moving forward, and will serve as the main point of contact for sales throughout Europe for the Body Glove brand.
