Fashion forum AFINGO will be returning to Los Angeles on Thursday, May 5 with a five panel event and invitation only luncheon. Kristina Dechter, Editor in Chief of FOAM Magazine will be among the panelists for the “Ready to launch your line?” discussion on making the transition from concept to competition. Derek A. Sabori, Head of Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibly at Volcom and Shaun Tomson, Environmentalist/Board Member at Surfrider Foundation will be on hand to discuss “Sustainability & Philanthropy” which will be followed by “Red Carpet Culture”, a panel discussing the utilization of the “Hollywood factor” to gain exposure. Shaun Tomson, Former Pro Surfer and Founder Instinct/Solitude Sportswear will be moderating a panel on “West Coast Style” featuring panelists Zac Andrews, Senior Design Manager Men’s Footwear at REEF, Randy Hild, EVP of Corporate Collaborations & Partnerships at Quiksilver, Steve Mills, Director of Lifestyle Footwear for Vans and Amy Struck, Creative Director for O’Neill Girls. Each panel will be followed by 45-minute networking session.

The event will take place at the California Market Center, 110 East 9th Street (at Main Street) and a portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Surfrider Foundation. “We sought out a charitable partner with local roots as a way of giving back to the community. Surfrider is a natural choice given both their esteemed reputation and the themes explored during AFF LA,” says Liza Deyrmenjian, co founder and CEO of AFINGO. “We’re thrilled to have them involved.”
