2010/11 Boot Trends

Fit And Comfort Reign

According to retailers, the biggest factors moving boots these days are fit and comfort. Look for this to translate into a pointed focus on plush footbeds, custom fits, phylon outsoles for dampening, and new technologies like Burton's DRYRIDE and DC's Aerotech, that vanquish swamp foot. "There will definitely be more seamless and welded constructions, high technical fabrics, and lightweight boots," adds 686 President and Creative Director Mike West.

Time = Pow Turns
Speed lacing systems continue to be the reverse camber of the boot realm and a number of new, user-friendly developments that get riders in and out of their boots in a hurry and improve fit, including BOA's release of a new three-zonal closure system, will be hitting the market.

Live To Ride Another Year
Value is still driving all categories and boots will justify their price tags by promising a long, happy relationship with their owners' feet. New materials and constructions promise to maintain their fit while bombproof outers can take a licking.

Skate Inspired Styling, As Long As It's Black
On the fashion front, colorways are back in black and skate and street inspired styles lead the charge. "Always bet on black and make sure you come with a little pop," says Celsius Brand Ambassador Jason Kimball.
