‘Slurpee Wave’ Season Ends With One Last Swell

The 'Slurpee Wave' makes one last appearance.

It was a long and cold winter on the East Coast. Albeit one that eventually paid dividends for surfers.

The extreme weather in the form of bomb cyclones and cold water hurricanes gave ample opportunities for the rare Slurpee Wave phenomenonIt even made its way to New Jersey.

New England photographer Jonathan Nimerfroh caught one last sight of the Slurpee Wave recently and put together a quick edit that’s another fine salute to the winter that was.

Here’s to spring and warmer waves.

The Slurpee Wave says goodbye for now.
