Documentary Features Interviews and Music from Surfer/Musician Icons, including Jackson Browne and Jack Johnson

LOS ANGELES (June 23, 2008)--Filmmaker David Parsa (“Absolute Mexico”) is proud to present the documentary “LIVE: A Music and Surfing Experience,” available on DVD August 26, 2008. The film can be purchased online at LiveTheFilm.com and in select surf retail locations across the U.S. for $29.95.  The film is being distributed by Mutiny Media. Official sponsors include Surfing Magazine and Surfline.

Parsa says, “‘LIVE’ documents the relationship between music and riding waves: two elements that have always been so closely tied together. Even from the first surf films, music was paramount.”

The film features many of the greatest surfers from all eras, while world-renowned musician Jackson Browne, a lifelong surfer, guides viewers through the history of the harmonious nature between surf culture and the world of music. “LIVE” features songs by artists particularly influential to core surfers from past to present, like Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Makaha Sons Of Ni’ihau, T.S.O.L., Jack Johnson and Pennywise. Interviews and footage feature renowned surfers, including Gerry Lopez, Greg Noll, Kelly Slater, Dane Reynolds, Jordy Smith, Tom Curren and Mick Fanning, to name just a few.

“LIVE” takes audiences through the intricacies of the symbiotic relationship between surfing and music. Parsa weaves sequences along the surfing culture’s timeline--from it’s Polynesian roots through every era of surfing and music since.

The film also features original music composed by Peter DiStefano (Porno for Pyros, Hybrid).
