Arnette's 1st Stop In The Cash Pot Surf Series Goes Off At Seaside Reef With Solid Waves And Packed Heats

FOOTHILL RANCH, CA - FEBRUARY 27, 2012: With help from TransWorld SURF, the first stop of Arnette's 2012 Cash Pot Surf Series went off without a hitch this weekend at Seaside Reef. Glassy waves in the 2-4 foot range saw stacked heats of surfers who came from all over SoCal to paddle out for their chance to win a piece of the $3,000 prize money up for grabs.

Unlike most surf events, the Arnette Cash Pot Surf Series distributes prize money to the winners of each heat, not just the guys in the finals. Both the Pro-Am and Juniors divisions we filled to capacity, with alternate lists for both hanging in the double digits.

In the Pro-Am division, Cory Arrambide, last year's San Diego winner, was a notable stand out and came home again with first place and more cash. On the Juniors side, most thought Taylor Clark was ripping, including the judges, who awarded him first place for his work in the water.

Limited space is available at each event in the Cash Spot Surf Series, given out on a first come, first serve basis. Events are beach entry only, so interested participants should plan on being at their local stop by 6:30 am the day of the event!

Future 2012 Arnette Cash Post Surf Series dates and locations include:
