The 2016-2017 ski season is officially here with dozens of resorts across the country now open for anxious powder hounds looking to get early season turns in.
And, with resorts in Colorado finally receiving heaps of much needed snowfall, The Enthusiast Network and Mountain Dew are kicking off the season by debuting the new, reimagined Dew Tour on Dec. 8-11 at the beautiful Breckenridge Ski Resort.
Dew Tour will showcase an all-new two-part slopestyle competition for the first time in its nine-year history, as well as a new adaptive banked slalom snowboarding competition on Friday.
Dew Tour Breckenridge 2016 will also debut a new Team Challenge, which invites six premiere ski and snowboard brands to build a team of three riders they think have the best chance to dominate on transition, jumps and jibs courses.
The event will serve as an opportunity for many ski and snowboarding fans to catch some of the biggest names in the snow sports world compete against each other with athletes like Gus Kenworthy, Kelly Sildaru, Silje Norendal and Mark McMorris all expected to attend.
“We’re excited to kick off this preeminent winter season event with the modified jumps and jibs course, adaptive, streetstyle and our new Team Challenge, as well as a whole weekend of competition,” Adam Cozens, the General Manager of Dew Tour, said in a press release.
Beyond the competition, Dew Tour is a celebration of the winter sports culture with Breckenridge also playing home to the 17th annual POWDER Awards and TRANSWORLD SNOWBOARDING’s 18th annual Riders' Poll Awards as well as a huge concert Saturday night that will be headlined by Joey Bada$$, DJ A-Trak and D.R.A.M.
