Wiseco Performance Products, the worldwide leader in manufacturing high-performance, forged and billet pistons has re-upped its sponsorship agreement with Team Honda HRC for the 2019 season.
Wiseco will continue to provide Team Honda HRC with piston and engine package research and development services as the team looks to add a 15th Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship to its already exceptional list of accomplishments.
For the second consecutive year, both Ken Roczen's and Cole Seely's Honda CRF450Rs will sport the Wiseco logo in 17 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, races and 12 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship events in the coming year.
Roczen, a two-time Pro Motocross titlist returns to the saddle of the No. 94 Honda CRF450R and will be flanked by Seely, who returns to competition after being sidelined with injuries for most of the 2018
The formidable duo of Roczen and Seely are scheduled to "Ride Red" over the summer and compete for the organization's 14th Lucas Oil Pro Motocross title. "Wiseco is thrilled to extend our relationship with Team Honda HRC for the 2019 season," explained Wiseco Director of Powersports, Scott Highland. "We're proud to combine resources for engine development with one of the most recognizable teams in the global powersports industry. Our first year together was very successful, and we are looking forward to another great racing season."
Last season, Christian Craig carried the Honda colors for most of the Supercross season after Roczen suffered injuries to his right hand at Round 6 in San Diego after posting three podium finishes in the first five races. Seely was second in points heading into Round 8 when his season came to a halt after
fracturing his pelvis at the Tampa Supercross. Roczen was back on his CRF450 for the 12-race Pro Motocross schedule, earning six podiums, including two moto victories, as well as four additional top-five efforts. The German-born rider turned in a gritty outdoor campaign and finished third in the final points standings.
"We're excited to have Wiseco back on board as a team sponsor for the 2019 season. Engine performance and reliability are crucial if you want to be a contender for the AMA Supercross and Motocross Championships," said HRC's team manager, Erik Kehoe. “With Wiseco's support and access to their knowledgeable R&D staff, it gives us the confidence that our race team engines will perform at the highest level."
The 2019 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, season opener from Angels
Stadium of Anaheim, Calif., will kick-start the new year Saturday, January 5, beginning at 6:30 p.m.,
Pacific Time. Details for television coverage of the 2019 season will be announced at a later date.
