By now, many are becoming aware of the freak accident that happened inside the Dodger’s Stadium for the third round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series. The gates dropped for the 450 main and started to make their way around the track, but two turns later, disaster happened when Trey Canard had a tuff block stuck on his footpeg and he had to double the triple. As he was coming up the backside of the last hump of the triple, Ryan Morais landed on top of him, and both riders were immediately on the ground. As a result, the race was red flagged so the Asterisk medical crew could attend to their injuries.

After the race, Muscle Milk American Honda’s Eric Kehoe said that it appeared that Trey Canard was fine, and that he was taken to the hospital for precautionary measures. He did say that no one in the camp knew for sure how Trey was, but that he was conscious as the ambulance took him away.

In the Rockstar/Valli-Star/Racing Yamaha’s camp, the extent of injuries for Morais were a little vague, and no one knew exactly how he was doing.

As the sun rose this morning, injury reports of both riders have been flowing in on Twitter as Aaron Canard, Trey’s brother, and Hannah Morais, Ryan’s wife, been informing everyone on their family members.

As of right now, Morais has three fractured vertebrae in his neck, a broken jaw, and some busted teeth. Earlier this morning, doctors repaired his jaw and it is now wired shut for eight weeks minimum.

For Canard, he has fractured the T10 and T12 vertebra in his back.

We will keep you informed when more information becomes available, but in the meantime, follow @airdawg41 and @hannah_morais on Twitter to stay updated on their injuries.
