In many cases, the vehicles we choose to drive mimic our personalities and make a statement about who we are and the lifestyle we’ve chosen.

So it can be a fun exercise to look at someone’s ride and see how well it suits them.

Here are the rides of some of the biggest action sports stars in the world. Some won’t surprise you, others might:

Nyjah Huston: Lamborghini Aventador

New whip! Lamborghini Aventador

Stunning, performance-driven and consistently able to turn heads.

The above sentence could be used to describe Nyjah Huston’s competitive skateboarding career, as he throws down runs casual skateboarders could only dream of and does so with consistency (he’s the three-time reigning X Games Street gold medalist).

The same description could be used for his Lamborghini Aventador, which Nyjah loves to show off on Instagram.

Luckily, Nyjah signed a contract with Nike, so he should be able to afford the MSRP of roughly $400,000,

Tanner Hall: Winnebago Era 4×4

Only 5 weeks left till I get my new house/transport. More than ready. #era4x4winnebago #lifechanger

Tanner Hall’s main priority in life seems to be chasing powder.

Somewhere after skiing might come developing his own strain of weed.

So it would only make sense that he lives in a van, right?

Something about a skier with dreadlocks living in a van and chasing winter storms just seems so natural, and judging by Hall’s recent post showing off his new Winnebago, the freeskiing aficionado seems excited for van life.

Jamie O’Brien: Toyota Tacoma

Thanks @the_notch_ stoked on the new lift ! And the new @kmcwheels Photo @jake_of_all_trades

Big and powerful — just like the waves he surfs — Jamie O’Brien’s lifted Toyota Tacoma truck seems to serve him well on the North Shore.

And given that his adventures in Hawaii tend to encompass everything from riding giant waves on a Supsquatch to night surfing at Pipeline, O’Brien needs a car capable of carrying all his toys.

Travis Rice: Toyota Tundra

Pretty much everything we said about Jamie O’Brien goes for Travis Rice, except instead of big-wave surfing he’s big-mountain riding, and instead of making laps around the North Shore he’s sending it in Alaska for his new film The Fourth Phase.

Tony Hawk: Mini Clubman

Just got a @MINIusa Clubman! They shall see me rollin', they wavin'

A photo posted by Tony Hawk (@tonyhawk) on

Tony Hawk, who is 48 and has four kids, is probably glad to have a family car like the Mini Clubman.

Hawk has a reported net worth of north of $100 million, surely enough for a motorized toy, but hey, you can’t fit four kids inside of a sports car.

Gus Kenworthy: A bike

I got hit by a car today… Luckily I didn't get hurt too badly, I just wheelie, wheelie scared myself.

A video posted by gus kenworthy (@guskenworthy) on

Gus Kenworthy rides a bike, probably because he lives in New York City, where having a car is a nightmare.

By day, he’s winning X Games medals and saving stray dogs, and by night he’s pedaling around the Big Apple.

But, as shown in the above Instagram post, Kenworthy might want to stick to skis as his mode of transport. It’s much harder to get clipped by a car skiing down a mountain than it is cycling through Manhattan.
