WHAT IT IS
In addition to a full line of grips, ODI produces a complete line of high-performance handlebars. The Podium Flight MX Bar is made of 2014-T6 alloy and has a proprietary tubing profile that yields great feel and comfort while enjoying great strength and resilience.
In this day and age, every motocross bike should be equipped with "oversized" 1 1/8-inch bars; old-school 7/8-inch bars may be comfortable, but they bend easily. The Podium Flight MX Bar is oversized for strength and comfort.
Comfort is high with the Podium Flight MX Bar, as it isolates the rider from much of the feedback from engine vibration and track inconsistencies.
The left side of the handlebar is knurled for superior grip adhesion if using traditional glue-on grips, but the rough surface still accepts Lock-On grips perfectly (The knurling on other brands of handlebars must be filed down to work with Lock-On grips).
Strength is high and the bars resist bending in crashes. We've been shocked by their resilience, even in end-over-end spills.
The high-density foam bar pad is good looking and effective.
Only eight bar bends are available. Fortunately, we love the McGrath bend, but riders with odd preferences may be out of luck.

WHAT IT IS
ODI is the originator of lock-on grip technology, and the design is so ingenious that KTM and Husqvarna have incorporated ODI Lock-On Grips into their off-road production lineup. The clutch- side grip installs in seconds with a 3 mm Allen-head bolt, while the throttle side comes complete with a new plastic throttle tube. Recently, ODI began to offer the half-waffle Lock-On grip in its light grey soft compound.
The diameter and feel of the Half-Waffle grip are perfect–not too thick and not too thin.
Contrary to what one might think, the clutch-side grip is not any larger in diameter than a traditional glue-on grip.
Speaking of glue-on grips, there is no sticky mess associated with installing a Lock-On grip, and it is ready to ride on instantly.
The clutch side Lock-On grip is super secure, and we have never encountered any slippage.
The throttle-side grip comes complete with optional cams that snap on and off for different bike brand applications.
We love the feel of the new soft compound grip, as it offers great traction and is easy on the hands.
The fit of the lock ring of the clutch-side grip is super precise and is tough to fit over some aftermarket handlebars that have aggressive knurling on the bar-end to provide traction for a glue-on grip.
The ODI Lock-On Half-Waffle grip–in both the original and new soft compounds–are the favorite grips of the TransWorld Motocross testing staff.
