In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We'll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…
Since the series began, we had all been waiting for Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey and RCH/Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John’s/Factory Suzuki Racing’s Ken Roczen to battle it out for a whole 20-lap main event. However, due to whatever circumstances thrown at the duo, the two never seemed to get a clear shot at each other—that was until last Saturday night in Arlington, Texas. Once the gate dropped for the main event in the Lone Star State, Roczen and Dungey raced out of the gate, and by the end of the first lap, they were running first and second. The Red Bull KTM rider managed to sneak around the young German to lead a lap, but Roczen answered back and lead the remaining 18 laps. It didn’t come easy, though, as Dungey managed to keep the gap around a second apart.
