The 2018 ESPYs will be taking place on Wednesday, July 18, and earlier this week, the final round of ESPY voting got underway. And thanks to the Olympics, action sports athletes can be found in four different ballots this year. In addition to Best Male Action Sports Athlete and the Best Female Action Sports Athlete (ballots that we all know and love), you can also find your favorite action sports figures athletes in the Best Male US Olympic Athlete and Best Female US Olympic Athlete ballots. Marcus Kleveland

The young snowboarder is part human and part helicopter … Marcus Kleveland is best known for his ability to spin himself in the air so much that you’ll get dizzy just watching it. A true natural in the playing field, the 19-year-old Norwegian has taken two gold medals and three silver medals from X-Games when he isn’t busy stacking footage that breaks the internet.

Red Gerard

The extremely talented 18-year-old that comes from a family of professional snowboarders, Red Gerard has worked his way to the top with killer video parts in Transworld Snowboarding’s Insight and Arcadia. Not to mention, he won an Olympic gold medal in Pyeongchang this past winter. Red Gerard (as well as Marcus Kleveland, of course) are undoubtedly the future of snowboarding.

The 18-year-old ripper from Torrance, California has been on the cover of Sports Illustrated, was featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and has stacked four gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze from the X Games. Kim’s name can be found on both lists, the ‘Best Action Sports Athlete’ list and the ‘Best Olympian’ list. Yes, all of that from an 18-year-old snowboarder that grew up three hours away from her closest ski resort, Mountain High in Wrightwood, California.

Your PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games slopestyle gold medalist, Jamie Anderson undoubtedly found her name on both lists, as well. Anderson is a leading figure for snowboarding, meditation, yoga, and wellness from South Lake Tahoe, California. Even thought her focus shifts to health and wellness while she’s off the slopes, Anderson has stacked medals at just about every contest she’e ever been to, with 15 from the X Games: five gold, seven silver, and three bronze.

Brighton Zeuner

At 13 years old, Brighton Zeuner is the youngest to ever win an X Games gold medal. Needless to say, this young skateboarder will be around for a long time so get used to seeing her name in first place positions for years to come. In addition to her ESPY nomination, Zeuner attained a Kid’s Choice Awards nomination and a New York Times feature.

Stephanie Gilmore

The 2013 ASP rookie of the year and winner of six World Surf League (WSL) world titles, Stephanie Gilmore is on the forefront of women’s surfing and found herself as an ESPY finalist. Like the rest, Gilmore is an accomplished athlete that is no stranger to first place positions.

Kevin Hoefler

When he’s not in the parks on the podiums, pro skateboarder Kevin Hoefler can be found in the streets, filming video parts that turn heads every time. Although only yet to snag two gold medals from the X Games, Hoefler has managed to demolish contests around the world at Street League, Dew Tour, and the Kimberly Diamond Cup.

Mikaela Shiffrin

With two Olympic gold medals and one silver medal, Mikaela Shiffrin is this year’s leading figure for alpine skiing. Shriffin is from Vail, Colorado and made her world cup debut at age 15. Those medals are just pieces apart of Shiffrin’s long list of accomplishment’s.

Henrik Harlaut

The 10-time X Games medalist and 7-time Skier Of The Year, Henrik Harlaut can be found in the Best Action Sports athlete section. Over the course of his career, the accomplished skier from Sweden has five big air gold medals, which is more than any male skier in a single discipline. Beyond his medals, Harlaut is known for his high energy and loving attitude.

David Wise

Husband, father, and Olympic gold medalist, David Wise is has snagged four X-Games gold medals and one silver medal. Best known for pushing the limits, Wise attempted doubles in all four directions at 2017 Dew Tour Breckenridge, which is something that has never been done before. Wise is also known for his creativity off the snow as he is the author of children’s book, Very Bear and the Butterfly.

Is it even possible to list all of Shaun White’s accomplishments? With 23 X Games medals and three Olympic gold medals, it is safe to say that Shaun White is the most praised competitive snowboarder to date. Take that and combine it with the Olympic performance that he had this year, no “Best Olympian” list would be complete without White’s name on it.
