Profile was always known for having high quality hub-sets and crank sets for BMX racing and freestyle. With their precision machining and knowing of the industry, Profile started making and perfecting other parts. In this case, we have a very popular Top Load stem called the Push stem.
The Push stem, American made and named after longtime and super awesome Profile Racing rider Mark Mulville's favorite trails, Push. The word always relates to the "push" up your bars get. This stem was designed as a top load stem should be, and that is to set your bars higher than your typical front load stem. Raising your bars around 10mm higher than Profile's Acoustic stem, or most front load stems out.
This stem uses an ¼ allen wrench on the stem bolts, so remember that before you switch from a Taiwan step to this stem. Comes in a range of colors, such as: Black, Polished, Red, Blue, Green, Purple, Black, White, Matte Black, Gold, Aqua (Turquoise). Also will come in limited edition colors every once in a while. Weighing in at 9.95oz, it is on par with most stems on the market. Sizes range from 48mm, 53mm, 58mm and 63mm. 58 and 63mm only comes in black.
Tools needed to install: ¼ allen wrench. Tightening a stem, use the cross method, start with the top left bolt, then the bottom right, then to the bottom left, and across to the top right. When putting the stem on your fork, make sure the pinch bolts(the bolts on the side) are loose, and slide spacers(if needed) under the stem to make sure that the top of the fork's steertube is at least a ¼" under the top of the stem. When tightening your headset/stem, tighten the compression cap(fork bolt/cap) and then tighten the pinch bolts(bolts on the side of the stem) and BAM, headset is tight and stem is on the fork.
