At just 20 years old, Conner Coffin is already one of the most accomplished young American surfers, and he just gets better and better by the day. With an illustrious amateur career under his belt, Coffin has his sights set on competing on the World Qualifying Series and gathering enough good results to make it to the big time, the World Championship Tour. In the water, Coffin is known for possessing power and flow beyond his years; on land, he's rarely seen without a guitar in his hands or classic rock blasting from his speakers.
Describe your dream day from dusk ’til dawn.
Every day seems like a dream! I love nothing more than getting really good waves at home, hanging out with my family, them jamming with some friends. It's actually pretty nice because I get to live that day quite often.
Personal hall of fame?
Tom Curren, Keith Richards, parents, Parker Coffin, Andy Irons, Jerry Garcia.
"The Pillars of the Earth," "The Power of One," Hemmingway.
"Caddyshack," "Searching for Tom Curren," "Dude Cruise," "Arc" (Taylor Knox), Dane Reynolds, "First Chapter," "Wedding Crashers," "Star Wars," "Rock and Roll Circus."
The Allman Brothers, The Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, The Band, Credence Clearwater Revival, Ten Years After-- just a lot of classic rock in general. As far as new bands go, I like Pleasure and Pacific Haze. I don't have any guilty pleasures; I like all music.
As you read this, Conner is probably watching this Grateful Dead video and jamming along on his Fender guitar.
I try to enjoy every day like it's my last and never take anything for granted. Spend lots of time with friends and family and be stoked. Enjoy the little things in life.
Everybody that's in my hall of fame.
I feel bad for being mean to my little brother when we were younger. Sounds dumb, but he's my best friend now, so I feel bad for every time I was ever being a jerk to him.
I ripped my pants in elementary school climbing a fence and I'm pretty sure everybody saw my whole package, which was the worst thing that could ever happen to you when you're a little kid.
