Over Valentine’s Day Weekend, actress Vanessa Hudgens and her boyfriend Austin Butler took a trip to see the red rocks in Sedona, Arizona.

However, the two did a lot more than just look at the rocks. They carved a heart with “Austin + Vanessa” into the rocks. Aside from committing the crime of unoriginality, they actually broke a federal law by defacing a national park in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

She was fined $1,000 according to The Associated Press and she helped authorities find the carving, which was located at Bell Rock.

She had posted the picture on her Instagram, which is how the National Park Service learned of the carving.

“She was caught in the act because she publicized it and she’s famous,” Coconino National Forest Service spokesman Brady Smith told the AP. “I’m sure there are others who are not famous and publicized it and we’ve never known.”

She has since deleted the post.

The money went to non-profit Friends of the Forest and it will be used to sand down the carving.
