Hurley has partnered with charity To Write Love On Her Arms to create a new phantom boardshort.
The charity’s founder, Jamie Tworkowski, worked as a sales rep for Hurley before he went off on his own to create the organization, which focuses on helping people suffering from depression and addiction and works to prevent suicide.
The collaboration began as a simple request to Hurley creative director Ryan Hurley; when Tworkowski asked Ryan to make a few pairs of the new boardshorts for Hurley team rider C.J. Hobgood, Ryan asked, “Why not more?”
“The boardshort collaboration with TWLOHA is a great fit. TWLOHA addresses issues that a lot of people face on a daily basis,” Ryan Hurley said. “They have a real connection with young people. The more we can help empower and inspire the next generation, the better all of our futures will be. We are fortunate to play a small role in the great work that is being done.”
Embossed on the inside of the shorts read the words: “Hope is real. Help is Real. Your story is important.” To read more about To Write Love On Her Arms, click here. To learn more about the collaboration or purchase the shorts, click here.
