Dustin Beatty started his career in media over half his life ago first shooting photos and writing for music magazines. That experience and an extensive education in media led him to launch Anthem Magazine in the late 90s.
Over a decade in print circulation, Anthem grew as a category leader breaking new bands, discovering rising art stars, introducing new fashion designers and documenting the creative communities in Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris and Tokyo. Print Magazine called Anthem “an underground version of Vogue” in the article 'Radical Traditionalists' about indie publications.
Beatty has sat face-to-face interviewing talent like Hedi Slimane, Dennis Hopper and Michel Gondry along with hundreds of bands, artists, actors, directors and fashion designers. A passion for the outdoors also led to reportage on world class adventure athletes, covering fringe events like the Baja 1000 off-road race and embedding himself with notorious surf gangs.
His photographs have appeared in museums, books and featured on the covers of albums and magazines. Behind the lens he’s also photographed cult celebrities like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Cillian Murphy, Jason Lee and Rashida Jones along with shooting for respected brands like Levi’s and Harley Davidson. You can find him all over the globe in pursuit of a good story.
